Jennifer Lopez and her production flagship, Nuyorican Productions, signed a multi-year sighting deal with Netflix. López, along with producing partners Benny Medina and Nuyorican Productions president Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, will produce film and television content, both scripted and unscripted, featuring a variety of actresses, writers and filmmakers.
López already has two feature film projects in the works with Netflix, including Mother directed by Niki Caro, and Encryption, based on the novel by Isabel Ojeda Maldonado. Mother Follow a deadly assassin who comes out of hiding to teach her daughter how to survive. López is currently training for his role in Mother with production scheduled to begin in the fall and a release scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022.
Encryption focuses on FBI Special Agent Nina Guerrera, who becomes embroiled in the case of a serial killer after he strategically posts complex codes and puzzles online. Liza Fleissig, Ginger Harris-Dontzin, Catherine Hagedorn and Maldonado will serve as executive producers and Courtney Baxter will serve as associate producer.
